Thank you Chadwick Boseman

I honestly don’t even have the words to say how inspired I am by this King that has transitioned. Bringing so much love and soul to film while battling stage 3-4 colon cancer is remarkable. He didn’t voice his prognosis, but Showed up everyday. Many tears have been shed after hearing of his passing but I want to look to him as inspiration.

I too, battle a horrible disease that has no cure. I also take a form of chemotherapy (tysabri) while being a wife, mother of two boys and working. I have days when I can barely walk, I fall because my legs give out on me, I have burning nerve pain that feels like someone lit a match on me, my brain has over 20 lesions on it and I have no clue if more will come down the road. Yet, I promise myself to SHOW UP and try.

Chadwick, has done that and MORE with No complaints. He visited children battling cancer, representing a super hero that they were able to see in person. Meanwhile, he had NO clue to us he is a REAL SUPER HERO.

Thank you for all your hard work, your art, and your words, they will echo through our hearts forever. Thank you for representing ALL warriors that are battling illness rather they’ve voiced it or not. Sleep in Peace, job well done.

The MS fight continues after a great weekend.. oh Hey Selma Blair!

Hola friends! Happy Tuesday!

I hope you all are doing well. I’m doing ok! Over the weekend, the family and I had a nice family trip. The Kalahari indoor water park is a MUST go! I felt like I was youthful again, as I splashed around and was drenched by the water falls lol. Returning back home, was good up until last night.

My legs are on Fire! It’s uncomfortable to walk and I feel exhausted. How could it be? After having a great weekend, playing in the water? Oh the water! For MS patients, water helps to keep the body temperatures cool. No wonder, I felt my best at the resort. Today is treatment day. Usually after a few days from the Tysabri being administered, I “perk” up a bit. I’m looking forward to that because I was spoiled this weekend lol.

Nonetheless, your girl is staying strong and I will keep Pushing. I pray that you can do the same. Regardless of the challenges, don’t give up on yourself and keep going!

Before signing off, shout out to my fellow MS Warrior Selma Blair at the Oscar’s!! Rocking her cane and slurred speech, she looked Stunning!

Thanks for reading!

Wow, Beyonce and Jay Z did see a fan go Apesh__ in ATL!

So last night as I was drifting off to sleep, I heard about a fan running on the stage while Beyonce and JayZ were exiting the stage. This happened at the Atlanta “On the Run Tour II” show and I’m just confused!

First of all, security? What happened? How did this man really make it past you guys, hop on the stage and proceed to follow the stars? Yeah, I’m not sure if they still have jobs today.

Second, this is so scary. People are constantly doing crazy stuff. I don’t know what’s in the water, the food or it must be the drugs but people are truly bonkers. I’m really lost at words but if you haven’t seen the footage, it’s posted below.

MS Sister, Jamie-Lynn

Hi Friends!

I was so excited when I got my issue of Neurology Now magazine! It features  Jamie-Lynn Sigler, an actress who went public about her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis.

I entitled this post,”MS Sister” because when it comes to MS Warriors, I look at them as sisters and brothers. If you haven’t seen or read the article, please do!

I’m so happy for Jamie-Lynn. I know opening up about MS wasn’t easy (especially as an actress) but it’s good for those who are scared to know that they are not alone. We are in this battle together. We are Mighty Strong!!

Motivational Mondays: we should stop putting age limits on our Goals

Hi friends! Happy Monday and new week to you!

https://www.facebook.com/idriselba/videos/10153812692958692/

The link above is video shared my Idris Elba. He asks people the question, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” of course, many laughed and states that they were grown up, however when do you stop growing? 🤔
We all have had dreams or goals we want to do, but we reach a point where we just put that dream on the back burner. Is it because it didn’t happen by the age we wanted it to? Did “life” happen? I’ll be first to admit that when I was younger, I wanted to become a wife, mother and Psychologist. Professionally, I want to obtain my doctorate degree and I wanted to open a family center to help all people. I feel like once I was diagnosed with MS that was a curve ball that wasn’t expected. I began to concentrate on other things that were more important, family. Steve and I got married and we eventually became parents. So, I’ve achieved two things, but I still haven’t accomplished the final piece. Once I stopped putting age limits on stuff my mind changed. Once I said I don’t know if it will happen, now it’s I WILL get my cherry on top, God willing.
We also have this attitude that if we don’t do certain things by certain ages, we either failed or will never accomplish them. I feel a lot of television and fairy tales are the cause for this. We have this thought that by this age, I should finish school, I should be in my dream career by that time, this age, I should get married or at least fall in love, I should have kids by this time in life, I should own a home/condo at this point. We place pressure on ourselves and it hurts when these things aren’t fulfilled.

Imagine if we as a people could just live. Imagine as we are growing and evolving, we can say I’m ready to take the leap. Instead of family and society filling our heads with time limits, we take our time and just worry about ourselves and our creations. This can be us friends, we need to make that choice.

What are your thoughts? Thanks so much for reading!

Motivational Monday’s: Jessica Alba

    Look at this!!!
A few weeks ago I shared the story on Facebook about the success of Jessica’s Honest Company. I don’t know about you but that is very inspirational. She was very passionate about products for the body and home etc. Now she has a $200 million net worth and was on the cover of Forbes magazine.

Friends this could be anyone. Use your gifts and passions to build your empire!

As I type, I’m experiencing leg pain after a day of feeling great and being on the move. That is the unpredictable aspect of dealing with MS symptoms. However, I’m still happy and won’t let this “hiccup” keep me down.

I shared the link above because it makes me happy to see celebrities open up about either their own battles with illness or express the experiences of their loved ones.

Check it out
